FAQs

Can customers use Afterpay or other BNPL options on a Try with Mirra order?

The service operates by temporarily saving card details through either Shopify Payments or PayPal at the time of order. As a result, the integration with BNPL options like Afterpay are not currently supported. Customers are charged for the items they decide to keep directly from the card associated with their original order.

Can my customers use discounts/promo codes?

Some discounts will work as normal, however some are not supported by Shopify for Try orders. Please see below:

Discounts Supported:

- Fixed Percentage Off: These discounts will apply as usual. However, make sure to set them up as "product discounts" rather than "order discounts" in Shopify. If set as "order discounts", they might inadvertently apply to the 'Try Service Fee' if the customer returns all items.

Discounts Not Supported:

- Fixed Dollar Amount Off (e.g. $20 off): Shopify allocates these discounts proportionally across all items in the order. For instance, if a customer orders two products and decides to keep only one, the discount will be split. This means if there's a $20 discount on two items, each item will only have a $10 discount applied.

- Buy x, Get x Offers: This offer is not compatible.

- Gift Vouchers: These cannot be applied in conjunction with the service as card details must be used when the order is placed.

A customer wants to return all items from their order. How does this work with payments?

If a customer chooses not to keep any of the items they've tried, they will pay a $10 Try service fee. This will be processed in the order in Shopify and paid to as normal through Shopify.

My customer has decided on the items they want. How will they be charged?

The customer will simply log into the Try with Mirra portal to confirm their selections. Upon confirmation, their saved card details will be processed for payment only for the items they've chosen to purchase. This will be paid to you as normal through Shopify.

Can I refund my customer if they have already been charged?

If the order has been finalised and payment has been taken, but you later agree with the customer to provide a refund, you can simply process this directly from the order in Shopify.

My customer has completed their order but now they've changed their mind. What should I do?
If your customer wishes to modify their order after completion, you can edit this directly in the order in Shopify. If you experience any issues please contact our support team for further assistance.

How and when do I receive payments for the items my customers decide to keep?

Payments for items that customers choose to keep are processed using their saved card details on the order in Shopify. You will receive payments for completed Try with Mirra directly from Shopify as per your usual orders.

How does "try before you buy" work for pre-order items?

Our "try before you buy" service primarily focuses on in-stock items that can be shipped immediately to customers for the best try-on experience. We recommend that pre-order products are not selected as eligible products to Try.

If you're considering offering "try before you buy" for pre-orders in the future, let us know, and we can discuss potential custom solutions.
