Step 3: Define Product Types, Categories & Sizes

Accurate product data is essential for proper filtering. Ensure your product types, tags, and size variants are clearly defined.

To ensure your products appear correctly in filters and search results, please review and set:

• Product Types – What type of product is it? (e.g., Dress, Serum, Sneakers)
• Categories – These help group products logically. Shopify now uses standardised category taxonomy (e.g., Apparel & Accessories > Clothing > Dresses).
• Size – Make sure sizing information is included where relevant so customers can filter by size in the app.

How to Set Product Categories in Bulk

For faster setup, you can bulk update product categories:

1. Go to the Products section in your Shopify admin.
2. Use the checkbox to select all visible products.
3. Click “Select all products in your store” if applicable.
4. Click Bulk Edit.
5. Ensure the Product Category column is visible.
6. Use this view to assign categories to multiple products at once.

Shopify’s AI will suggest relevant categories, but feel free to override where needed for accuracy.
