Learn how to apply a manual charge if a customer fails to return an item, or an item is returned damaged/soiled.
Overview:
If a product is missing from a return, or you receive a product back that is damaged or soiled, payment can be manually captured by editing the order, as Shopify stores the card details used when the order was placed. This can be used to:
- Charge the full price for an item was was not returned
- Charge the full price for an item that was returned in unsellable, unrepairable condition
- Charge a cleaning/repair fee for an item that was returned soiled, but could still be resold
